Perfect Picture

2 + 2 = 4
 
3 + 3 = 5
 
4 + 4 = 8
 
Other than wanting to email me to tell me my mistake, your immediate reaction is probably absolute delight at having spotted the error.  I doubt anyone had the thought “oh look, there are two correct”.  I imagine it’s a survival technique.  We’re programmed to filter information when looking at a situation to spot if there’s something wrong with it which may signify danger from which to run and survive.  When we were younger (about 80,000 years ago!) we would have gazed over the savannah and immediately spotted the marauding beast heading our way to feast on our meaty butts!
 
Don’t let this very effective survival tool ruin some otherwise enjoyable pictures in your life.  With Summer being here our bodies come into sharp focus.  But instead of concentrating on what you don’t like, love the great things about yourself.  Concentrate on the two correct sums.  When you stand in front of the mirror, celebrate the great stuff that you can see.  If you’re in your exercise kit then congratulate yourself that you’re getting fitter and keeping yourself healthy.  Stop focussing on the stuff you don’t like, it may never change.  It’s a waste of your energy.  Accept all your greatness and your flaws and then get on with living this great and short life.  Get your bikini on and bomb the swimming pool of life!
 
We may never get the perfect picture body according to aesthetics but we can make damn sure that we’re on this planet staying healthy, grabbing life and squeezing all the fun out of it.  I can guarantee you that I will get your heart, lungs, bones, muscles and joints into better shape so you can do exactly that.  If you get a tighter looking bum in your jeans along the way then so much the better!
Be more than your looks in your perfect picture.
